SafecomLink has demonstrated a groundbreaking case study involving live, AI-based weather routing over HF radio.

Sailor Harley Soltes (LA/KN7H) utilized SafecomLink combined with a Pactor 4 link to successfully access the Safie AI assistant from his vessel off the Norwegian coast.

The Connection Setup:

  • Frequency: 14.120 MHz
  • Land Station: Austria (OE3FQU)
  • Conditions: No cellular coverage, no satellite service, and absolutely no shore-side infrastructure.

Through this real-time, two-way AI interaction, Soltes received precise wind forecasts and a day-by-day crossing comparison for his passage to Lofoten, Norway. Following his journey, he noted that the AI’s predictions outperformed his usual weather applications and provided results significantly faster than his previous WinLink email approach.
